QUIET WALL ART FOR JAPANDI ROOMS

Wall art for japandi interiors, made to order on Hahnemühle archival paper

There is a kind of room that asks almost nothing to be added to it. Wood left plain. Light left alone. Shelves that hold six things, not sixty. If you keep a room like that, the wrong work will undo it, and the right one will barely announce itself.

These are the quietest paintings in Ground Notes. Washes that settle. Forms that resolve. Nothing high contrast, nothing primary. Made to order on Hahnemühle archival paper, from ₹2,999.

The Works

Where Rivers Rest holds a whole river in five muted tones. Spring III is the stillest of the Spring paintings. The two Symbiotic Relationship squares were made as companions and hang well with room to breathe between them. Irrational Fiction Called Life brings structure without noise. Dusk Over Ridge ends the day at its lowest volume.

The Frame

Warm Oak sits closest to pale-wood interiors. Gallery White disappears into white walls. Unframed, the sheet's texture does some of the work itself.

The Paper

Hahnemühle Fine Art Matte 210gsm, archival, with a natural matte surface. The limited edition prints on Museum Etching 350gsm. More in why we print on Hahnemühle.

Restraint is not the absence of colour. It is colour that has stopped needing attention.

Abstractions By Dev

A quiet room is not empty. It is edited. These works were made to survive that standard. The full set lives in Ground Notes, and the palette continues in earth tone wall art and Himalayan wall art. If photography suits the room better, the Paris works in Letters from Elsewhere keep the same restraint.

What makes wall art fit a japandi interior?

Muted colour, resolved form, and no demand for attention. Japandi rooms pair Japanese restraint with Scandinavian warmth: pale wood, natural fibre, low contrast. Art that fits keeps to soft earth tones and grey, holds its shape from across the room, and introduces no visual noise. Every work on this page was selected against that standard.

Which frame suits a japandi room?

Keep the frame as quiet as the work. Warm Oak is the closest match to pale-wood furniture and flooring. Gallery White disappears into white walls. Unframed, the sheet's natural texture carries the minimal look on its own. Ebony Black is the boldest option here, use it only if the room already holds dark accents.

What sizes are available?

The two square works print at 50x50cm. The rest run Medium (30x40cm), Large (45x60cm) and X-Large (60x90cm), all made to order. In a restrained room, one work at Large usually holds a wall better than a grouping.

What paper are these printed on?

Hahnemühle Fine Art Matte 210gsm for made-to-order works, an archival sheet with a soft matte surface and no glare. The limited edition prints on Hahnemühle Museum Etching 350gsm. Both are rated 100+ years under recommended display conditions.

Can I hang two of these works together?

Yes. The two Symbiotic Relationship squares were painted as companions and hang well side by side with 8 to 10cm between frames. Otherwise pair one vertical with one square rather than two verticals, keep the palette family consistent, and let one work lead.
