What size wall art goes above a sideboard?
One Large (45x60cm) work, centred over the sideboard with 20 to 25cm between the furniture and the frame's lower edge. That gap keeps the two reading as one arrangement. If the sideboard runs long, X-Large (60x90cm) holds the width better than a pair of smaller frames.
How high should art hang in a dining room?
Lower than in any other room. Eye level in a dining room means seated eye level, so hang with the work's centre around 135 to 145cm from the floor. A dining room is looked at from chairs, not from a doorway, and art hung to standing height floats too high for the room's whole point.
Horizontal or vertical for a dining room?
Horizontal, in most rooms. A dining wall runs behind a table or bench, and a horizontal composition follows that line. After Afterworks, When the Clock Hits 10, Sur le Pont and Paname are all horizontal for this reason. Vertical works belong beside a doorway or on the narrow wall.
